Come Early, Shop Happy
Don’t wait ‘til Monday — First Monday kicks off on Thursday! Want to beat the crowds and snag the good stuff? That’s your day.
Wear Your Walkin’ Boots
This ain’t the place for flip-flops or fancy shoes. You’ll be hoofin’ it for miles, so lace up somethin’ comfy and thank us later.
Bring Layers (And That Good Ol’ Sunscreen)
Texas weather’s like a toddler with a mood swing — it’ll change on you fast. Dress in layers and keep that sunscreen handy. Reapply, or risk lookin’ like a boiled crawfish.
Cell Phones Might Be Useless
Y’all, when it’s busy, those phones turn into paperweights. Pick a meeting spot with your crew ahead of time, ‘cause we can’t page folks unless it's a lost kid or a medical emergency.
Little Boots Get Tired Fast
It’s a big market for little feet. If you're bringin’ the young’uns, be sure to bring a stroller, wagon, and maybe a shady umbrella to keep ‘em cool and happy.
Sleepin' Arrangements? Plan Ahead
Hotels and RV spots fill up faster than a plate at Sunday potluck. Book early — or try nearby towns and charming B&Bs.
Rain or Shine (or Snow)
This market don’t quit. Whether it’s hot, chilly, or wetter than a duck pond, First Monday’s rollin’. April, May, September, October and November are usually the sweet spot weather-wise — but bargains are year-round.
Bring a Wagon (Or a Fella With Strong Arms)
Got a lot to haul? A little cart or wagon saves the back. For big stuff, ask the seller for a pickup pass so you can drive in later and load up.
Doggone Good Time (for Good Dogs Only)
Friendly, leashed pups are welcome in the Original First Monday Park — but be neighborly and clean up after ‘em, ya hear?
Explore Beyond the Grounds
Canton’s more than just First Monday! Take a spin downtown or down Hwy 19 for more antiques, crafts, and outlet goodies.
Grab a Free Canton Guide
Find your way ‘round easier with the Canton Guide — it’s got maps of the grounds and town, plus more local ads than a Texas penny saver.
Park Smart
You can park close by on the grounds or in nearby lots for about $10 a day. Cash is usually quickest.
Ask Before You Snap
Vendors pour their heart into their goods. Always ask before you take a photo of their booth or products.
Bring Cash (and Maybe Extra)
There are ATMs around, but during busy weekends they can dry up quicker than a summer creek. Cash talks — especially if you like to haggle a bit.
